SAMMY HAGAR's Car Sold To Nebraska Collector

March 15, 2006

Sammy Hagar's 1967 Shelby GT500 was purchased at the renowned Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale, Arizona in January of 2006 by noted Nebraska collector Mike Patak. Owner of Mike's Classic Cars, Mike Patak has been an avid classic and muscle car collector for more than 30 years.

Mike has developed an outstanding reputation for finding the best quality classics and muscle cars you can available. Mike also has a true passion for Shelby Mustangs. In fact, he has developed one of the most impressive, and probably one of the largest, Shelby Mustang collections in the Midwest. The collection's current crown jewel is Mike's newest purchase, Sammy Hagar's 1967 GT500. It is among the finest examples of these highly collectible and rare muscle cars. Not only is it an outstanding vehicle, it boasts an autograph to Sammy Hagar from Carroll Shelby as well as the moniker Red Rocker scribed on the rear spoiler! The car was rebuilt in 1992-93 for Sammy and modified with Ford speed parts. Original paint was Nightmist Blue, now Guards Red with Black stripes for the Red Rocker. Interior is Black. Engine is a 427 High-Riser with a 5-speed transmission. Sammy is seen driving the car on the "Long Road to Cabo" DVD. Original specs verified by Deluxe Marti Report. Car is listed in the 1997 Shelby Registry. Along with the vehicle came several pieces of memorabilia, most notably a Sammy Hagar autographed guitar that seems it was made to match the car.
